Is Garcinia Cambogia Worth The Side Effects?

Garcinia Cambogia has received a lot of national attention lately since the endorsement from Dr. Oz. However the supplement has been used for thousands of years in teas and soups to aid in appetite suppression among other uses. Since its recent explosion in popularity, studies have been done to try and prove or disprove the hype. So far, studies are inconclusive as the supplement has not been around long enough. Whether or not there are any side effects in taking Garcinia Cambogia depends on who you ask.

The experts (Dr. Oz and those selling the supplement) all claim that there are no known side effects. Since it is a supplement and not technically a food, it is not subjected to the same scrutiny of testing by the Food and Drug Administration. Those making the case that there are no side effects are quick to throw in that children, the elderly and pregnant and lactating women should not take the supplement as not enough testing has been done to ensure the safety.
Despite the verdict of no known side effects, there are plenty of customers claiming to have suffered from side effects from Garcinia Cambogia. Symptoms supposedly experienced are dizziness, loose bowels, headaches, fever, chills and more. Loose bowels and headaches seem to be the common complaint upon user feedback given. Could this be disgruntled customers? Maybe this is just by chance? Lastly, there is always the possibility that the customers ordered fake products.

Products claiming to be Garcinia Cambogia can also be very little of the extract and mostly fillers. To guard against this, customers should always order the real thing and not cheap knock-offs. It is also recommended to order from the United States only. Only when ordering the real thing with verified quality product, can you be sure to not suffer the side effects that some customers complain of. When customers spent the extra money and received the real product, they complained of no symptoms.
